As a result of a rigorous examination by the judges (Open Data Promotion Consortium Utilization and Promotion Committee) the MA10 Open Data Awards were presented as described below.

Highest Award

  • ・Prize 200,000 (JPY) + Incentive 800,000 (JPY) Total 1,000,000 (JPY)
  • ・Certificate of appreciation from government CIO
  • ・Advance to the final stage on November 19 (Wed)
  • ・The prize winner can participate in the “human resource matching event.” (sponsored by: Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and Ministry of Internal Affairs).
    　They will be informed about details of the event individually.

“GEEO (estimates real estate prices)” (Application number :1620)

Comments of the judges
  • ・The business model would not be possible without open data.
  • ・There is a possibility of forming a business when combined with other information of increased accuracy.
  • ・It is a promising application for a business. It depends on the ability to provide reliable price information.
  • ・I would like to evaluate it as a case study in which open data really have the potential for added value in an existing business.
  • ・There is a strong possibility of application for a local real estate business. It is good that there is an API value estimation.
    It would be better if UX became intuitive.
  • ・The point of view is interesting. If a room is estimated from floor plan, area, and age and independent housing is estimated from site area, living space, and age, is it possible to increase accuracy?

Parenting town (application number: 1120)

Comments of the judges
  • ・I expect it to enhance life information services in a variety of fields.
  • ・A big point is that more than 70 municipalities already use it. It could lead to standardization of administrative service information and clarification of differences. The key is to what extent it can increase profits with only ad revenue.
  • ・Even though user needs are high, business development is delayed because of the slow publication of public data. This is a typical theme in such a case. I hope it will become popular based on this initial case.
  • ・The attractive design is good. Time and effort to apply open data to child-care information are reduced and the potential to rapidly improve service quality is expected.
  • ・Because parenting has become a significant issue, I would like to promote it with priority.
  • ・Each municipality can build a user-friendly parenting support site at a low cost.
Open Data Platform

Open Data Platform (application number: 225)

Comments of the judges
  • ・It contributes to promoting open data.
  • ・There are needs to use Saa at the information-publishing side, but the key is how to squeeze the budget. The idea of selling not only the platform but also a set with the application will widen the scope of business.

Comments of the judges
  • ・A good perspective on information collection with only a guideboard. It would be valuable as open data if it can be converted into text data.
  • ・Publishing tourist information on the map in various ways is an effective service. It is new and interesting that open data is used for photo images.

  • ・Development to the Web of things is expected.
  • ・The balance of internationality, business feature, public aspect, and technical aspect is attractive.
  • ・App design and usability are excellent.
Yokohama 3D Map

“Yokohama 3D Map” (application number: 816)

Comments of the judges
  • ・Try to demonstrate it in many different ways.
  • ・The 3D aspect is attractive. I feel that it is suggesting the future shape of a regional information platform.
  • ・A fantastic production for the PC using Google Earth and it is nice that the display is easy to view. It would be attractive if it is made into a signage with automatic animation.
